Kick-off to Social Media Basics Series

Have you had questions about social media for your small business or entrepreneurial endeavors? Are you confused about which social media sites to use or how to use them effectively?

Part 1 of 2:

The Center for Rural Entrepreneurial Studies is partnering with the Small Business Development Center to bring you Maren Hamilton from Flint Group to give you information about how to kick-start your social media.

Maren will discuss the basics for small business owners and go over information about deciding if social media is right for you and the strategy behind social media. She will also go over how to combine your business goals with social media marketing as well as the basics of the most popular social media sites.

There will be time for questions for Maren as well as light refreshments.

This event will take place on Tuesday, February 18 from 9 – 11 AM at BEDE Ballroom at the University of Minnesota Crookston. There is a $10 registration fee. Register at www.impact2020.org. Event is FREE for UMC students.

Part 2 of 2:

Training event focused on a follow-up from February 18th training. This training will be focused on how you should design a website with goals in mind, learn what SEO (search engine optimization) is and why it’s important, and what social media sites to use for specific businesses.

This event will take place on Wednesday, March 12 from 9 – 11 AM in BEDE Ballroom at the University of Minnesota Crookston Sargeant Student Center. There is a $10 registration fee. Register at www.impact2020.org. Event is FREE for UMC students.
