ServicesStarting a business can be an overwhelming experience. At the Center for Rural Entrepreneurial Studies, we understand this and are here to provide you with technical assistance, research, and entrepreneurial resources. We are a regional organization that understands the challenges of starting a business in Northwest Minnesota.

Business and Student Connection

The Center for Rural Entrepreneurial Studies partners with three faculty each semester (fall and spring) to integrate projects of regional entrepreneurs and small businesses into course work. Entrepreneurs and small businesses participating in this program will receive valuable consulting services provided by UMC students and overseen by qualified faculty.

Please submit applications by the following dates:

  • Fall Semester – August 10th
  • Spring Semester–December 15th

Technical Assistance

Entrepreneurs and small businesses can benefit from the knowledge of UMC faculty and student interns. The Center for Rural Entrepreneurial Studies offers various services to individuals and business clients that are based on your needs, including:
